Yod Siam Thai Restaurant was first established in 1960 by Mr Yod’s mother Mrs Boonsong Pongsawang (please see picture at the front of the restaurant). She opened up her outside balcony by the Chaopraya River in Bangkok to serve up her home made recipes.

In 1987 Mr Yod and his sister moved to England to open up the first Thai restaurant in Nottingham called the Sala Thai. After several years Mr Yod decided to open up his own small Take away business in Beeston called Yod Siam, where they served Thai food and Fish & Chips! Amazingly the take away won the best Fish & Chips award in 1996 for the local area!

After several years the business expanded and relocated to Beeston town centre now known as Yod Siam Thai Restaurant. In the year 2010, Yod Siam would like to introduce its own rice range, for customers to experience an authentic Thai taste at home. Yod Siam rice range is now available to purchase in over 80 oriental retail stores nationwide and planning to expand further.

Today Yod Siam still serves original Thai recipes from 1960 set by Mrs Boonsong Pongsawang. The restaurant has been passed down for three generations.
